WHO WE ARE
We started Impera to raise the standard.
We launched Impera Security with one goal: to be the security contractor New York City property owners could actually count on.
The problem we kept seeing was simple. Buildings were getting systems installed by contractors who treated every property the same — generic layouts, fast installs, and no one to call when something stopped working. For a property manager responsible for dozens of tenants and millions of dollars in real estate, that isn't acceptable.
New York City buildings aren't simple. Prewar plaster and steel. Historic facades that can't be drilled carelessly. Co-op boards with strict requirements. Mixed-use properties with complicated multi-tenant access. Every building in this city has its own set of challenges, and most security contractors treat those challenges as inconveniences instead of the job.
We built Impera differently. Before we recommend a single piece of hardware, we assess the building — its construction, its wiring, its tenants, and what the owner is actually trying to solve. Every system we design is specific to that property. Every installation gets the precision and care we'd want in our own buildings.
Our clients are property owners, co-op and condo boards, building managers, and facilities teams who need the work done right the first time, with clear communication throughout, and a contractor who's still reachable when the job is done.

HOW WE WORK
Who you'll be working with
Impera Security Systems was founded by Adam Resnik after more than 15 years of hands-on experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting security systems throughout New York City. After working on everything from apartment-building intercoms to commercial access control and surveillance systems, he started Impera to provide property owners and managers with a more responsive, straightforward approach to security installation and service.
Today, our NYC-based team installs and services intercom systems, security cameras, access control systems, alarms, and door hardware for apartment buildings, co-ops, condos, offices, retail spaces, and other commercial properties.
The person who evaluates your property is involved in designing and quoting the system, so you're not being handed off to a salesperson who has never seen the job. Our technicians know the equipment we install, and Impera is a licensed and insured NYC security and locksmith company.
We’re based in Brooklyn and serve properties throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the surrounding NYC area.

Honest recommendations. We recommend what your building actually needs — not the most expensive option, and not whatever's easiest for us to install. If a repair solves the problem, we'll say so. If an upgrade makes more sense long-term, we'll explain why.
Accountability after the job. When the installation is done, we walk you through the full system and stay reachable for questions, maintenance, and follow-up. We're a local business. Our reputation is built one job at a time, and we take that seriously.
NYC code compliance. Every installation meets NYC Building Code, FDNY egress requirements, and applicable Landmarks Preservation Commission guidelines. We don't cut corners on compliance, because the consequences land on our clients, not just on us.
